Decision Logic's payroll management capabilities differs from that offered by many restaurant payroll software vendors, in that our solution is not simply a vehicle for moving time and attendance files from the POS or timekeeping system to the payroll provider. Decision Logic provides a full range of capabilities within our Payroll and EEIF module that help manage the new hire and payroll process.
The payroll process starts with the hiring of a new employee. Decision Logic allows the prospective employee's social security number to be matched against termination records across the enterprise to learn if the employee has worked for the company before, and if so, are they eligible for rehire. When the decision to hire has been made, Decision Logic provides a capability not typically found in payroll management software solutions, where Decision Logic becomes the single entry point for new hire information. Once the user-defined information has been entered into the system, Decision Logic will then provide the appropriate information to all other solutions in use by the operator, including POS, workforce management, and Payroll provider. When relevant, Decision Logic also has the ability to receive data from these other solutions to facilitate synchronization of data.
Decision Logic has the ability to become the number authority for pay rates and increases, as opposed to allowing that authority to reside within the restaurant accounting software solution in use. Establishing Decision Logic as the number authority provides central control over the process, assuring adherence to corporate guidelines. Upon receipt of time and attendance data from the POS or timekeeping system, payroll data is able to be reviewed and edited within Decision Logic prior to being exported to the payroll provider. For groups that have employees who work multiple jobs in multiple restaurants, Decision Logic provides a seamless solution to ensure employees are paid properly, while assuring that restaurant labor cost is correctly charged to the appropriate restaurant.
In addition to managing payroll, Decision Logic has extensive functionality for maintaining electronic employee information forms (EEIF). Required functionality is specified by the user and is comprehensive in scope. Additionally, Decision Logic is able to function as an electronic forms depository. Available forms can be found through a simple search tool to allow easy access to collaborative data such as best practices documents.
